Debate Fail: Democrats Don’t Denounce Antifa

With round two of the CNN game show called the Democratic Presidential Debates finally over, viewers were left wanting an answer to the one question that wasn’t asked but should have been: “Will you denounce the terrorist group Antifa?”

The answer should be easy for anyone who aspires to the office of President but the only Democrat in the crowded field who has been willing to go on record denouncing Antifa as a terrorist organization is Joe Biden.

So why is only one Democrat Presidential hopeful willing to tackle these domestic terrorists?

One must first start with the loose collection of groups that go by that name. Antifa is short for “anti-fascist.” Their ideology is based on the premise that the Nazi Party would have never come to power if people who protested that evil had taken their cause to the streets.

The movement that often uses a logo bearing a red and black double flag may just be making the news in the U.S. now but it began in Europe in the 1960s and first appeared in the states near the end of the 1970s.

In the past, those who claimed allegiance to Antifa showed up to counter white supremacist and were mainly peaceful demonstrators. But sometime in the last decade the organization took a drastic turn towards violence, rioting and looting.

Today’s Antifa focuses on harassing anyone who doesn’t believe in their far-left ideology exactly as they do. They do not just go after followers of conservative politics, but also moderates in their party.

Some in Antifa use their fists or crowbars to beat non-believers while others prefer to hurl bricks milkshakes, water bottles, and balloons filled with urine and/or feces mixed with hardened cement. Others still launch bricks at law enforcement and the people they are sworn to protect.

The images of bloodied innocent bystanders and counter-protestors are everywhere. Residents in Seattle repeatedly report being terrified of Antifa members.  So why are Democratic candidate so unwilling to speak out against such tactics?

Surely with a stage like Detroit and its second-highest crime rate in the nation, CNN host Jake Tapper would pose that one important question. However, no one in the liberal run media will bring the subject up because that works against their narrative that everything bad in this country exists because of Trump.

With the Democratic Party drawing lines between the old guard semi-moderates like Biden and Harris and the new socialists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, few among the Democratic candidates want to touch the subject and Tapper and the rest of his leftists media buddies know it.

When Andy Ngo, the Portland-based journalist was attacked by Antifa a few weeks ago the Democratic side was all but silent. Ngo, the gay son of communist refugees seems to be a perfect fit for the party of diversity, but he made one mistake – he told the truth about Antifa in his reporting. He did not justify their violence in his writing, nor endorse their efforts.  After his stay in the hospital for a brain hemorrhage resulting from an attack by Antifa members while on assignment, Ngo told Katrina Trinko of The Daily Signal that the group is militant and communist.

Ngo said his coverage of Antifa had been critical, “not just critical of the hooliganism” and the street violence “because violence, of course, is easy to condemn.”

He is also critical of Antifa’s underlying ideology. He told Trinko, “My parents lived through a Marxists revolution … my mother was just a teenager when she and her entire family … were sent to labor camp. My father was sent to re-education camp, so that history and trauma that my parents continue to carry with them is part of my story and I don’t have the luxury of viewing radical Marxist ideologies with the same rose-colored glasses as my peers do in Portland … In Portland, as a political monoculture, you will see a more visible presence of open socialists and even communists than you would regular conservatives or Republicans.”

Conservatives have long suspected many Democrat political figures were socialists in disguise. Now, unlike Antifa, their masks are off.

Former Representative and current Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison recently had to delete a post that surfaced showing him holding a manual written by Antifa ideologue Mark Bray. NBC’s Chuck Todd then invited Bray to ‘Meet the Press’ so he could explain why Antifa’s violence is ‘ethical.’

Earlier in July, an Antifa mob firebombed an ICE facility filled with women and children in Tacoma, Washington and now a far-left Antifa group plans to converge near the U.S.-Mexico border to “protest” conditions in migrant detention facilities.

Even so, CNN appears to have had no intention of allowing candidates to reveal themselves as socialists. They like the rest of the liberal run mainstream media continue to hold the water for the far-left wing of the Democrat party.

CNN and the rest of biased mainstream media outlets know any candidate who is open about being a socialist has no chance against Donald Trump nor with the majority of American voters.
