Nancy Pelosi Holds on While AOC Fumes in the Aisles

Nancy Pelosi is 80 years old and was just re-elected to another term as Speaker of the House. Her privileged access to hairdressers in her home district has kept her well groomed, but the continual look of surprise on her face might be Botox-induced.

There was no surprise, however, that she was re-elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. She kept control of the gavel with a winning party-line vote. She managed to overcome grumbling about her age and how she presided over the loss of so many Democrat seats during the last election—especially at the hands of Republican women who flipped 7 seats.

In any case, Nancy has promised her caucus that this is her last term. The problem is that there are vulnerable Democrats who could be defeated in the 2022 midterms when buyer’s remorse over electing Trojan Horse Joe Biden sets in. If Nancy goes away, the House speakership could certainly be a wedge issue for the Republicans to win back the House.

Heading the grumbling was ultra-liberal Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Cortez recently told one interviewer that she believes that Pelosi needs to go. Should Nancy’s successor be AOC? She says that Democrats need a plan to replace Pelosi, but “it can’t be me.”

The line of succession is Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and Majority Leader Sherry Hoyer, both aged 80 and 81, respectively. AOC fears that when the superannuated triad of Democrat House Leadership leaves, “there are folks more conservative than even they are willing to kind of fill that void.”

As AOC sees it, given the internal dynamics of the House, there are “very little options for succession.” Those options, of course, exclude any moderate Democrat in her party that she wouldn’t actively campaign against.

Some of those colleagues ganged up against her recently. AOC was shot down in her quest for a prized seat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. As an advocate for the madcap “Green New Deal,” she had been jockeying behind the scenes.

Fellow Democrats pointed out how AOC had encouraged several liberal challengers to unseat her own incumbent challengers. A fellow New Yorker got the job instead.

In the meantime, Nancy can be counted on from time to time to throw the progressives a bone. She has introduced a set of politically correct speech rules to govern the current session.

In addition to other dopey measures, the package would “honor all gender identities by changing pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be gender neutral.” There was no indication that George Washington could keep the title Father of His Country. (By the way, gender-neutral pronouns also include “xe” and “hir,” and a host of bizarre and absurd variations.)

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, a GOP leader in the House, spoke for many when he tweeted: “This is stupid. Signed, –A father, son, and brother.”

A classic illustration of Rep. McCarthy’s characterization would be that the new rules include the renaming of the Office of the Whistleblower Ombudsman. Its new title will be Office of the Whistleblower Ombuds.”

Finally, you can always count on liberals to pontificate and wax all holier-than-thou when symbolism inevitably overcomes their good sense. Their new feel-good plan includes making permanent the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. This is “to facilitate a diverse workforce that is reflective of our Members and districts they represent…”

Actually, it means some full-time employment for another group deep-state bureaucrats to add to the numbers of inmates that are running the insane asylum headed by Crazy Nancy Pelosi.

  7. Nancy Pelossi is a liar thief minipulator and an out and out HAG. I’m shocked that the socialist party would keep her in office. Her and her husband have been making a fortune off of US taxpayers. Go to hell Nancy your headed there anyway.

    1. I totally agree but politicans make so much money, legal and illegal, and get so many perks they will never appove a vote for term limits. Think about it. What in the hell can they do after being in office but write a book. Such a pathetic bunch on both sides. Americans need to advocate that term limits get on the ballot for us to vote our approval. Trump did not realize how deep the crooked swamp was.

  8. They are stupid crooks, too. It really is unbelievable to find out how corrupt our politicans and government are. Trump sure did open my eyes. We need to say woke and vote this idiots out of office. As long as people keep voting for the swamp like Pelosi and Biden nothing will change good for the people.

  9. What can you expect from a representiveI from the state of California, truly….”the land of “fruits & nuts”.
