Mainstream media will try to tell you that the impeachment noose around President Trump’s neck is tightening. It’s a bold face lie. The Democrats have absolutely nothing. All of their ‘star’ witnesses have proven useless. No one actually had any contact with President Trump (except Ambassador Sondland who completely corroborated Trump’s account he said, “I want no quid pro quo.”).
It’s always hard to get a straight story from the mainstream media. If you ask 10 leftists why President Trump should be impeached, you’ll get an indefinite number of answers. They’ll say a lot of things, but they probably won’t make a conclusive point. That alone is very telling.
If we ignore the superfluous stuff and really focus on the charge of impeachment, it boils down to a simple concept. The Democrats are accusing President Trump of leveraging diplomatic policy with Ukraine to force them to investigate a political opponent and influence our elections. At face value, this is in the same ballpark as what Nixon did, and it’s certainly something conservatives wouldn’t tolerate from the left.
In order to make their case, the Democrats are making two points. The first is that military aid was withheld on the condition that Ukraine would investigate Joe Biden. The other is that the United States refused to even garner diplomatic relations with Ukraine until the investigations happened.
Leftists news organizations say that this is why President Trump wasn’t at Zelensky’s inauguration. They also say that diplomatic visits were suspended between the two countries.
Both of these points have been debunked, but today, we’re going to completely shatter the latter. Diplomacy between Ukraine and the U.S. has been fine since Zelensky’s election. In fact, President Trump declassified a phone conversation that proves as much. You can see the entire transcript on the President’s Twitter, but here’s the gist.
After Zelensky won the election, President Trump called to congratulate him. This happened in April. In that conversation, they extended invitations to visit each other’s countries, and both accepted. The Democrats are then saying that Zelensky’s visit to the White House was suspended in July, but the same day this was alleged to happen, President Trump reiterated the invitation for Zelensky to visit.
This is like a childish game of telephone. Everyone is putting the tiniest conversations under a microscope, so let’s make this blatantly clear. The Democrats say that diplomacy between our countries broke down because President Trump wanted a political favor. This claim by the left is in exact contradiction of the recorded conversation between President Trump and Zelensky.
They lost this round. There was no quid pro quo. Zelensky was never forced to do anything — as evidenced by the fact that there still isn’t an investigation into Joe Biden (even though there should be). It’s another baseless witch hunt. It’s vital that we all stay informed and ahead of the made-up accusations of the left.
